Yoga for Grief and Loss

In order to live, we must all experience loss. Losing someone or something we cared about brings grief into our mind, body and spirit. When it isn’t expressed, sadness and anger can get stuck in our body.

In this workshop a safe space is created to begin to process and explore sensations, thoughts, and emotions in both the mind and body. The physical postures of gentle yoga (asana) will be taught to nurture the heart and relieve the physical manifestations of loss. You will be guided through breathing techniques (pranayama) to enhance the mind-body connection and to induce a calm state of mind. Guided meditation and relaxation will be used to encourage you to journey and explore your loss in a supportive environment. You will be taught empowering techniques to cope with loss and find compassion for your journey.

We will close out with a grief ceremony to honor your loss.

Please bring an item or items of memorabilia of your loss to the workshop.

Appropriate for all levels, no prior yoga experience needed. Regardless of where you are in your journey this class will be of benefit.
